leadership council chooses Whalebone Productions
VANCOUVER, BC – Ron Trepanier of Whalebone Productions Ltd.
has been selected Executive Director of the Leadership and Management
Development Council of B.C., a position he has held since the Council
was established in 1996.
Colin Bennett, CEO of the Certified Management Accountants of B.C.
(CMA), has been elected president of the Council for 2004. Also
elected to the Board of Directors is Noreen Angus, Office Suites
on Broadway, vice-president; Brian Williams, RBC Royal Bank, Treasurer;
Lynn Jest, Capilano College, Secretary; and Claudette Everitt, Everitt
and Consultants, past president.
The Leadership and Management Development Council was created in
1995 in response to a B.C. Chamber of Commerce report that B.C.
businesses would have to improve their leadership and management
skills in order to become more competitive. The LMDC helps to promote
the development and enhancement of leadership and management capabilities
among small and medium-sized enterprises in B.C. and acts as a catalyst
in pulling together the resources needed to help strengthen the
leadership and management capabilities amongst B.C.’s business
community.
The LMDC is a non-profit organization comprised of representatives
from educational institutions, the business community, and the federal
and provincial governments. Its corporate sponsors include Terasen,
RBC Royal Bank, Telus, the Business Development Bank of Canada,
Fasken Martineau, WCG Westcoast Group, Certified Management Accountants
Society, and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of B.C.
