Ron Trepanier

Ron Trepanier has more than 25 years experience in the private and public sectors, working extensively in strategic planning and project development for businesses, professional associations, community organizations, and all levels of government.
A well-respected facilitator, Ron’s strategic planning sessions are known for their ability to inspire participants to transform their organizations. Through his leadership role on a wide range of economic development initiatives, Ron has been responsible for successfully establishing key partnerships and strategic alliances in communities and organizations across Canada to develop a variety of regional and national initiatives.
Ron has also applied his knowledge and experience in business and economic development to help foster an entrepreneurial culture internationally. In Russia, Indonesia and Ukraine, he was part of a team that put in place the infrastructure required to strengthen local capacity for sustainable business development.
As founding president of Small Business BC and as the executive director of the Leadership and Management Development Council, Ron helped to provide small businesses across British Columbia with easy access to business information and support services. He also served as a member of Industry Canada’s Small Business Advisory Council for several years.
Ron has an M.A. in Communication from Simon Fraser University and a B.A. in Sociology (Honours) from Concordia University where he was awarded the Everett C. Hughes medal for outstanding graduating student.
